GoldCalc.us was built for one simple reason: figuring out what your gold is actually worth shouldn’t require a trip to three different pawn shops just to get a ballpark number.

We’re a small, independent site focused on one thing a fast, no-nonsense scrap gold calculator for U.S. gold owners. No sign-ups, no app to download, no sales pitch before you get your number.

How We Keep It Accurate

Our calculator pulls live gold spot prices from gold price api and updates them automatically, so the estimate you see reflects the market at that moment, not a stale number from last week. We built in support for every purity and weight unit you’re likely to run into from 10K costume jewelry to 24K bullion, grams to troy ounces to pennyweight because gold shows up in a lot of different forms and we didn’t want to make you do the math.

What Makes This Different

Most calculators stop at “melt value.” We go a step further and estimate what different types of buyers pawn shops, online gold buyers, and local refiners typically pay relative to that melt value, so you walk into a sale knowing roughly what a fair offer looks like versus a lowball one.

What We’re Not

We’re not gold buyers, brokers, or appraisers, and we don’t take a cut of your sale. GoldCalc.us is an information tool the number it gives you is a starting point for negotiating with a buyer, not a guaranteed payout. Actual offers depend on the buyer’s testing, overhead, and margins, which is exactly why we recommend comparing at least two before you sell.
